Staked Racing

2–4 players each stake an equal amount of $MOONXR. The race starts when everyone's in — cross the line first and 97% of the pot is yours (3% is burned; a small SOL entry fee applies).

Stake & Race

Staked Racing · DeFi

Stake equal. Winner takes 97% of the pot (3% is burned).

A fair, on-chain wager: everyone puts in the same amount, the pot is held in a Solana escrow until the race is decided, and the winner gets paid automatically.

1

Connect & pick

Connect your wallet, choose your stake and how many race — 2, 3 or 4 players.

2

Everyone stakes

Each player locks the same amount of $MOONXR into the on-chain escrow.

3

Race starts

The race begins the moment the last seat is staked — every seat is a real player, so share your race link to fill the grid. Hosts can add optional AI pacer cars as dummy traffic, but pacers never take a seat, never stake, and can never win. Once it starts, stakes are final: quitting or disconnecting is a forfeit.

4

Winner is paid

First across the line takes 97% of the pot — paid out automatically. 3% of the pot is burned forever.

Example: 4 players × 10,000 $MOONXR → a 40,000 $MOONXR pot → the winner takes 38,800 $MOONXR (97%); 1,200 $MOONXR (3%) is burned forever. Each player also pays a small stake-tiered SOL entry fee. 1v1 works the same — two players race for the pot. The host can add up to two 🤖 AI pacer cars for extra traffic, but pacers hold no seat, stake nothing, and can never finish, win, or touch the pot — the money race is strictly human vs human.

Create or join a staked race

Connect your Solana wallet, set your stake, and race for the pot. The winner takes 97% of the pot (3% is burned on settle) and each player pays a small SOL entry fee; refunds return your full token stake. Funds are held by an on-chain escrow program — never by us.

Checking the grid…

You'll stake the same amount the host set. The race starts once every slot is filled. ⚠ Staked races are final — quitting after the start is a forfeit.

The race result is reported by the game server (the referee). It can only pay the winner (97% of the pot, with 3% burned) or refund your full stake — it can never take more than that or redirect your funds elsewhere.

What is Moon Races?

Drift racing, on the moon

A real 3D racing game built in Unity — pick a ride, pick a track, and race the lunar circuits where low gravity makes every drift bigger and every jump longer.

Low-gravity tracks

The moon changes everything — floatier jumps, longer slides, and drift lines you can't pull on Earth.

Pick your ride

Choose your car and your track, then send it. Easy to learn in seconds, fun to master.

Drift to win

Hold the slide, bank your combo, and cross the line first. Smooth, satisfying arcade handling.

Real online multiplayer

Go wheel-to-wheel with real opponents in 2–4 player staked races — a dedicated server referees every match.

Phone or computer

Same game everywhere — on-screen touch controls on mobile, keyboard on desktop. Pick up and play.

On-chain & fair

Stakes are held in a Solana escrow and the winner is paid automatically — 97% of the pot, with a transparent 3% burned. No middleman holding your $MOONXR.

Five worlds · Five machines

Pick your world. Pick your ride.

Staked races run on the host's pick of five circuits — four under Earth gravity, and the Moon classic where low gravity turns every jump into flight. Every car is unlocked for staked racing, and it's all cosmetic: money races come down to pure skill.

RURAL

The starter circuit — rolling farm roads and flat-out straights.

ARCTIC

Ice-white switchbacks that punish a sloppy line.

DESERT

Wide dunes and long, lazy drifts through the heat.

URBAN

Tight streets and hard 90° corners downtown.

MOON

The classic — low gravity, huge air, drift lines you can't pull on Earth.

How to Play

So simple, anyone can race

Moon Races runs right inside your web browser using Unity WebGL — a full 3D game that loads like a webpage. No app, no download, no console needed.

On your phone

Use the on-screen buttons — ◀ ▶ to steer, ▲ to go, ▼ to reverse. Tap for fullscreen. Pick up and play.

On a computer

Use the arrow keys or WASD to steer and accelerate. Off the track? Enter resets you to the last checkpoint. Mouse not required.

WASDEnter

Just press Play

Hit Play Free to jump in solo, or Stake & Race to wager $MOONXR against others. Either way, you're racing in seconds.

▶ Play

First time? The game is a little large, so the very first load takes a moment while the lunar tracks download — after that it's quick. A stronger phone or computer runs it smoother, but it's built to work on everyday devices.

Good to know

Quick questions

Is it free?
Quick Race is 100% free — play in your browser, no wallet, no sign-up. Staked Racing is optional and uses real $MOONXR.
What is staked racing?
2–4 players each stake the same amount of $MOONXR. The pot is held in a Solana escrow, the race decides the winner, and the winner is paid automatically — 97% of the pot, after a 3% burn (plus a small SOL entry fee at stake time).
Do I need a wallet?
Only for staked races. Connect a Solana wallet, set a username and avatar, and you're set. Free play needs nothing.
How many can race?
From 1v1 up to 4 players in a staked match. Everyone stakes an equal amount, and the race starts only when every seat is staked by a real player — share your race link to fill the grid faster. The host can also add 🤖 AI pacer cars for extra traffic — they don't count as players and can never win.
What are 🤖 AI pacer cars?
Optional dummy traffic the host can add when creating a race, to make the track busier. The grid holds 4 cars and at least 2 seats must be human, so a 2-player race can add up to 2 pacers (3-player → 1, 4-player → none). Pacers never take a seat, never stake, and can never finish, win, or touch the pot — the money race is decided strictly between the staked human players.
How long does a staked race last?
Up to 15 minutes of racing. First across the line wins; if nobody finishes when time runs out, the racer who got closest to first (most progress on the track) takes the pot. Quitting or disconnecting mid-race is still a forfeit.
Can I race just my friends?
Yes — set your race to 🔒 Private when you create it. A private race is still listed on the board with a 🔒 — everyone can see who's hosting, the stake, the track and who's on the grid, but only people with your invite link or race ID can take a seat. 🌐 Public races are open to anyone straight from the board.
Who picks the track and the car?
The host picks the world for everyone — Rural, Arctic, Desert, Urban or the low-gravity Moon (Rural is the default; joiners see the pick before they stake). Every player picks their own car when creating or joining, and can switch it any time before launch. Every car is unlocked in staked races and choice is cosmetic — money races come down to skill.
How do I unlock levels and cars in Free Play?
In Free Play you climb level by level. Finish a level in the top 3 (earn at least 1★) to unlock the next level — so you always move forward, even if an AI racer edges you out. Win a level (finish 1st, 3★) to also earn a new car. Your stars, levels and cars save to your connected wallet, so your progress follows you across devices.
Who holds the $MOONXR?
An on-chain escrow program — not us. On a win it pays the winner 97% of the pot and burns 3%; on a timeout it refunds each player's full stake. No middleman can drain the pot.
What if someone quits mid-race?
Staked races are final — once the race starts there are no refunds. Quitting or disconnecting after the start is a forfeit, and the last racer standing takes the pot.
What devices work?
Any modern phone, tablet, laptop or desktop with an up-to-date browser. Windows, iOS & Android apps are coming soon.
Is there an age limit?
Free Quick Race is all-ages. Staked Racing involves real-money wagering and is for adults 18+, where permitted by law.
What's the token?
The token is $MOONXR — a Solana Token-2022 token that launched with a supply of exactly 1,000,000,000: the mint and freeze authorities are both revoked, so no more can ever be created — and 3% of every staked race pot is burned forever, so the supply only ever goes down. The official contract address is oSGMpaQTUv2JWUbCRXr9LbPgMjAv4j2b3fMBvSv6MXR — it's pinned at the top of this page with a copy button. Always verify it on moonraces.com and nowhere else.
